EDD announces Wildfire Business Assistance Grant Program

EDD announces Wildfire Business Assistance Grant Program
Grants will range from $5,000 to $20,000 for businesses damaged by fire and floods.
A new $1.5 million temporary grant program is available to provide support to small businesses and self-employed individuals who experienced financial losses due to the wildfires.
Businesses that qualify for the assistance must be inside the boundaries of the Presidential Disaster Declaration for the Big Hole, Calf Canyon, Hermit’s Peak, Cooks Peak, and McBride fires. Those areas are Colfax, San Miguel, and Mora Counties, parts of Lincoln County (ZIP codes 88345 and 88312), and Valencia County (ZIP code 87002), as well as the newly added areas in the counties of Sandoval and Los Alamos.
Eligible businesses can qualify for a minimum of $5,000 up to a maximum of $20,000.
EDD is hosting an information session on August 11 at 9 a.m. to review the details of the program and answer questions.
The grant application will be available on EDD’s website on August 15 and will remain open for entries until August 26. If funds are still available, a second application period will be announced.
The program will close when funds are exhausted or Dec. 1, 2022, whichever comes first.
