    New Vistas,

New Vistas is the first of five Centers for Independent Living to serve New Mexico.  We are a consumer-controlled, community-based, cross-disability private nonprofit agency whose purpose is to assist persons with disabilities and the families of children with developmental delays to live independently in their chosen communities.  Based in Santa Fe, we provide an array of independent living services including individual and systems advocacy, independent living skills training, peer support, information and referral, youth transition services, and nursing home transition/diversion services for nine counties in Northern New Mexico.  To ensure that the disability perspective is woven into every aspect of our operations, 51% of both our staff and our board must be persons with disabilities.

This Center for Independent Living is supported by the Administration for Community Living, US Department of Health and Human Services, as part of IL grant #2603NMILCL-00 in the amount of $514,051, which funds 100% of the agency’s IL services.  The contents are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement by, ACL/HHS or the US Government.
